My “Secret” to Success in Entrepreneurship

And then as I reflect on the numerous other people I know who have genuinely wanted to start their own business, or talked for over 10 years about how they wanted to figure out how to get started, or those that even spent a few months and tried something to make money online, only to give up a few months later, discouraged and unlikely to try again.

Ultimately my selection on this is that I am sad. I am sad more people aren’t going for it, trying to achieve their dreams, and letting fear hold them back.

But this isn’t come “puppy dogs and rainbows” fantasy that is it EASY or even GUARANTEED. Entrepreneurship is hard, there’s no direct path, you have to cut your own path through the jungle with a machete.

But the SECRET I realize now is that all along the way, I BELIEVED it was possible. Now 20 years in it is easy for me to say I KNOW it is possible, but when I first got started, I just was never attached to the result. I wasn’t scared of losing money trying to figure it out, and I wasn’t devastated by setbacks.

Maybe I was lucky or naive to just think that it was fun to try to figure it all out. After all entrepreneurship really is just a game, and you can have fun along the way.

But for too many people, the don’t BELIEVE they can make money online. And so they don’t try.

Or they hear about what I have done, or numerous others, or they hear an inspiring podcast from Gary Vee, Nick Loper, or John Lee Dumas, and they get inspired for a little while, enough to take some action. But then the inspiration wears off and the hurdles begin.

Entrepreneurship is not really about making money, it’s about your ability to run smack into an obstacle and find a way to keep on going, only to hit the next obstacle, and do it over and over again until, looking back in hindsight, you relaize that WOW I have been making some progress.

So if you are in the “Wantrepreneur” category and you WANT to star a business, and you have wanted to for quite some time, I would encourage you to take a time out, and get your mindset in shape.

Can you imagine that success is possible for you. Can you envision it, can you BELIEVE it.

Once you truly BELIEVE, then you can ACHIEVE.
